A federal judge's decision has increased pushback on New Jersey’s strict gun laws. A federal judge ruled Tuesday that the ban on AR-15 rifles is unconstitutional. It applies only to the Colt AR-15 and allows for use of self-defense within the home. Attorney General Matthew Platkin expressed his disappointment in the ruling, stating that it has “no support in the text or the history of the Constitution.” Platkin said he vows to appeal the decision.
