The Olympics are in full swing, and our hometown athletes are on the hunt for gold.

Delray Beach tennis star Coco Gauff suffered an emotional loss yesterday in the third round of women's singles play after a controversial refereeing decision .

    • The 20-year-old U.S. flag bearer is still competing in women's doubles and mixed doubles.

Key Biscayne soccer phenom Benjamin Cremaschi and the U.S. men's under-23 soccer team beat Guinea yesterday to advance to the knockout stage — the first quarter-finals berth for the men's squad since 2000.

    • Cremaschi plays professionally for his hometown team, Inter Miami.

U.S. gymnasts Brody Malone and Stephen Nedoroscik of the men's gymnastics team that won bronze Monday night aren't from Florida, but they do train at a gym in Sarasota .

    • America — and the internet — has fallen in love with these athletes, who won the U.S. its first men's gymnastics medal since 2008.

Plantation native Kassidy Cook won a silver medal for the U.S. over the weekend in the women's synchronized 3m springboard, the first-ever medal for the 29-year-old.

🏊 ‍♀️ Sarasota native and University of Florida Gator Emma Weyant took bronze in the women's 400-meter Individual Medley.

🏊 ‍♂️ Tampa native and UF alumn Bobby Finke scored silver in yesterday's 800-meter Freestyle finals.

What we're watching: Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo and the U.S. men's basketball team plays South Sudan today at 3pm in the group phase. Adebayo came off the bench and had 4 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds in Team USA's victory over Serbia last Sunday.

Florida's track stars will begin running later this week. Miami is represented by Twanisha Terry in the 100m. Fort Lauderdale is cheering for Aaliyah Butler in the 400m. And Clermont is home to Sha'Carri Richardson ( 100m, 200m and 4x100 relay ).
