    Ranking Oklahoma high school football's best quarterbacks in 2024 season

    The 2024 Oklahoma high school football season is coming up, so it’s time to look at some of the top players in each position group.

    Out of all the positions in the state, the quarterbacks definitely stand out.

    From Power Four commits to some players who have gone slightly under the radar, this is a great group of signal callers.

    Here are The Oklahoman’s top 10 high school quarterbacks heading into the 2024 season.

    10. Malikai Miller, Sr., Moore

    He holds an offer from Army. Miller had 1,438 passing yards and 14 touchdowns along with 583 rushing yards and seven scores last season.

    9. Jax Bernard, Sr., Fairview

    He led Fairview to Class A state titles the last two seasons . Last year, he completed 67% of his passes for 3,385 yards and 47 touchdowns and ran for 866 yards and 17 scores on 98 attempts.

    8. Cash Williams, Sr., Choctaw

    A Tennessee baseball commit, Williams was Choctaw’s starting signal caller last year. He had a 73.3 completion percentage with 1,988 yards and 26 touchdowns and 61 rushing attempts for 687 yards and eight scores.

    7. Owen Jones, Sr., Jenks

    He helped Jenks reach the Class 6A-I state title game last year and finished with 2,241 passing yards and 17 passing scores. Jones holds Division-II offers and a Division-I offer from Sam Houston.

    6. Kale Charboneau, Sr., Wagoner

    He helped Wagoner win the Class 4A state title as a sophomore and finish as the runner-up last season. As a junior, he completed 65.7% of his passes for 2,834 yards and 22 touchdowns and had 194 carries for 976 yards and 16 scores. A linebacker on defense, he had 114 tackles (39 for loss), four interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

    5. Owen Eshelman, Sr., Norman North

    He announced his commitment to two-time defending FCS champion South Dakota State in June and had a strong junior year, throwing for 2,279 yards and 24 touchdowns and running for 568 yards and seven scores.

    4. Shaker Reisig, Sr., Tulsa Union

    He committed to Utah in February but flipped to Boston College in June . Last season, Reisig had a 78.5 completion percentage with 2,364 yards and 25 touchdowns over eight games. He also had four rushing touchdowns.

    3. Grady Adamson, Sr., Deer Creek

    He announced his commitment to Georgia Tech in April. Adamson is coming off a big year in which he had 2,565 passing yards and 28 touchdowns along with 577 rushing yards and seven scores. He and the Antlers will now compete in Class 6A-I after being in Class 6A-II.

    2. David McComb, Sr., Edmond Memorial

    A Kansas commit , he had a 62.9 completion percentage with 3,009 yards and 29 touchdowns last season. McComb also had 53 carries for 520 yards and a score.

    1. Jamarian Ficklin, Sr., Muskogee

    The Texas State commit led the Roughers to the Class 6A-II state title last year. A lefty, Ficklin completed 67.6% of his passes for 3,249 yards and 32 touchdowns. He was also effective in the run game, finishing with 137 carries for 947 yards and 20 scores. Ficklin was named The Oklahoman’s All-State Offensive Player of the Year.
