SKYRIM’S developer Bethesda is known for its open worlds full of side quests and stories to discover.

Despite how huge the base games are, it hasn’t stopped Bethesda from building on their already large maps.

Skyrim has received three expansions, each of which adds significantly more content to the game.

Bethesda’s latest release is Starfield, and while one expansion has been announced, there is no planned release date.

The first expansion Shattered Space will launch sometime in 2024, and is included as part of special editions for the base game.

While we still know very little about this first expansion outside a short trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase, fans believe that a second expansion is already in the works.

Bethesda recently filed a trademark for ‘Starborn’, which fans believe will be the name of Starfield’s second expansion.

The term Starborn is a central concept to the base game of Starfield, and the Starborn play a big part of the story and the ending.

Players are hoping that if there is a Starborn expansion in the works, it will further expand on the subject and answer all player’s questions.

Bethesda director, Todd Howard, also revealed in an interview that the studio has big plans for Starfield DLC, though at the time fans believed he was alluding to Shattered Space.

With the latest trademark, players now think he could have also been alluding to Starborn.

He said: “Content-wise, we’re looking at what we did with Far Harbor on Fallout 4.

“This is a scope that works for our development in doing this annual story expansion type of thing.

“So really excited about that, and it lets us do some things the way we would in previous games and give people not completely that experience because it’s still Starfield, but this new kind of alien world that you’re able to explore and it takes place there.”

While players who purchased the special edition of Starfield were promised access to the first expansion, it will also be available separately for purchase.

Starfield is one of Xbox’s biggest console exclusive games, though it is also available to PC players and as part of Game Pass.
