Huge News On Tony Khan Meeting With Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon joining AEW recently became a topic of conversation among wrestling fans after podcaster Conrad Thompson informed his listeners that Vince’s son had been speaking to current roster members about the possibility. Still, once Tony Khan stated in an interview that he’d never even talked to Shane, the speculation began to lessen. Yet it has now been reported by Fightful Select in association with WrestleTalk that this is no longer the case, as Khan and McMahon actually met in Texas this past Monday.

“WrestleTalk and Fightful have learned that AEW CEO Tony Khan had a private meeting with Shane McMahon this week. We can report that the meeting took place in an office at a private Arlington airport on Monday, July 29, 2024 during the afternoon.”

Since suffering a torn quad at the beginning of an impromptu match with The Miz at WrestleMania 39, 54-year-old McMahon has been absent from the wrestling spotlight. Prior to that, he had been away from WWE for 14 months after receiving both internal and external criticism for the 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match he was involved in booking. Therefore, given this and the fact that his father has since resigned in disgrace following Janel Grant’s shocking lawsuit allegations, the idea of Shane making an appearance for AEW doesn’t seem as far-fetched as it once would have.
