SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – As your child gets ready to head back to school, you may want to check to see if they are up to date on their immunizations.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health made some changes for the upcoming school year.

Fourth graders are required to have two doses of the hepatitis A vaccine. Both doses must have been given on or after the child’s first birthday but separated by at least six months.

Ninth graders are required to have one dose of the t-dap vaccine on or after their 10th birthday.

Tenth graders are now required to have two doses of the chicken pox vaccine unless they already have the disease.

Tweleveth graders must have three doses of the polio vaccine with at least one dose received on or after their fourth birthday.
