INDIANAPOLIS — A musician who recently performed in Central Indiana asked the public for help after her guitar was stolen outside an Indianapolis hotel. Due to public outcry, the guitar was found and will soon be reunited with its owner.

Lisa Loeb, a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, took to social media early Wednesday morning, stating that her guitar was stolen outside the Conrad Hotel in downtown Indianapolis on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the theft was reported at around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday after it was stolen around 2 p.m. that afternoon. The acoustic guitar is valued around $4,000.

Loeb performed on Monday evening at Hendricks Live, a performance venue in Plainfield. Loeb, who is also a radio host and actor, was the first pop musician to have a No. 1 single when she was not signed to a recording contract.

According to her post on her X account, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, Loeb described the guitar as a Taylor 512-C (No. 9765) with gold tuners. The guitar is in a pink and red soft case.

On Wednesday afternoon, Indianapolis metro police announced that the guitar had been found after a 911 tip led police to an adult man who matched the description of an individual who may have been connected to the stolen guitar.

Police were then led to an Indianapolis business where the guitar was found and taken into possession by police.

Loeb took to social media to thank everyone for their outpouring of support.

“It takes a village, thank you for being mine!” she said, announcing that her guitar will be shipped back home and reunited with its rightful musician.

“Thank you to all the superheroes who made this happen,” Loeb said.

If individuals have any information about the whereabouts of the guitar, they are asked to email Loeb’s team at webmaster@lisaloeb.com .
