It's been nearly two years since tennis icon Roger Federer announced his retirement at an unforgettable Laver Cup back in 2022.

Despite longtime rivals set to soon join him on the sidelines and a new generation of men's stars willing and ready to take his mantle, though, the Swiss superstar remains a household name in the world of tennis.

Case in point? The upcoming partnership with sports apparel and equipment giant Wilson that Federer teased on his Instagram story Wednesday morning.

A short video of him hitting a backhand is accompanied by word overlays revealing an August 8th announcement date and Federer's signature logo alongside Wilson's familiar 'W.'

"Exiting project coming," he wrote in the caption, also including 'SOON' and hourglass emojis.

Wilson posted the same video shortly before Federer, along with the caption, "The future of the game begins August 8th."

One of the most decorated players in the history of tennis, Federer won 103 singles titles (second-most ever), 20 grand slams (third-most) and spent a record 237 consecutive weeks ranked No. 1 in the world.

Alongside foils turned friends Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, Federer is a central part of the Big Three that dominated men's tennis for nearly two decades beginning in the mid-2000s.

Keep an eye out for further intel on Federer's collaboration with Wilson leading up to August 8th.
