A POPULAR athleticwear brand has been forced to pull a brand-new line of leggings after customers complained they were unflattering.

Lululemon launched the almost $100 leggings less than a month ago, but customers were quick to voice their complaints.

The Breezethrough leggings were available in-store and online from July 9.

The leggings could be purchased for the steep price of $98, but shoppers quickly took to social media to express their disappointment in the product.

"I wanted to love the Breezethrough shorts but there are a few things that I couldn't get over so ended up returning them," one shopper wrote in a post on Reddit.

"I was hoping the V shape in the back would be flattering but it was too aggressive for me.

"All I could see was a whale tale/giant arrow pointing to my butt," she added.

"I'm not a fan of the 'long butt' look as I think it makes your butt look flatter.

"I wish the V sat just a touch lower or was more of a straight V rather than curved heart shape.

"It also looked lopsided to me because of how the seams meet in the back," she added.

The leggings were marketed as having a lightweight fabric and a quick-drying material, but shoppers were not sold.

This customer's review shows just how dissatisfied she was with the Lululemon leggings.

She described the Breezethrough leggings as a love-hate product.

The US Sun has contacted Lululemon for a comment.

Other shoppers also criticized the back design of the leggings on X.

"I spoke with a store rep today and learned that the Breezethrough leggings are one of their worst-selling new items," a user commented.

"The fabric is good, the design flaw is in the back seam and makes the butt look completely asymmetrical," they said.

In a statement to CNN, a Lululemon spokesperson said they would take all this customer feedback onboard.

"We have made the decision to pause on sales for now to make any adjustments necessary to deliver the best possible product experience," they said.

Numerous bad reviews of the product have been posted online.

"My girl tried them on and refused to come out of the stall to show me. It's that embarrassing," a customer said.

Some shoppers expressed their surprise that the chain had missed the mark with this item.

"I noticed their new Breezethrough leggings received poor reviews, and Lululemon removed it from their stories.

"This will give us a better opportunity to buy at lower prices in short-term news.
