The Terrell Davis controversy from July 13 on United Airlines seems to be coming to an end.

Daily Mail's Alex Raskin reported the flight attendant who accused the Pro Football Hall of Fame running back of assault no longer works for the airline.

Raskin wrote that Davis claimed he was handcuffed and removed from his United Airlines flight on July 13 after lightly tapping a flight attendant to ask for a cup of ice. The flight attendant accused Davis of hitting him.

However, despite Davis being cleared of any wrongdoing, Davis posted a letter from United Airlines on social media Tuesday that said he was placed on the airline's no-fly list.

After tremendous backlash online from Davis and Denver Broncos fans Tuesday, United told CNN that Davis' no-fly banned was reversed .

United Airlines also provided a statement to the media.

"Mr. Davis received this letter the day after the incident," the statement provided to DailyMail.com said. "It was generated due to the report of the flight attendant - who is no longer employed by United. The day after the letter was sent, we discussed with Mr. Davis' team that it had been rescinded. We have apologized to Mr. Davis for his experience and continue to review our handling of incidents like this to protect our highest priority - the safety of our customers and crew."

After the incident, the pilot on Davis' July 13 flight asked all passengers to stay in their seats. Then, six FBI and other law-enforcement agents came on the plane and took Davis into custody.

Davis has referred to the ordeal as humiliating and immediately demanded an investigation.
