The month of August kicks off with some heat. Temperatures will get into the 90s with high humidity. At times, it could feel like triple digits. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has already issued a heat advisory for Thursday and Friday afternoons for much of the Delaware Valley. Some afternoon thunderstorms this weekend pushes temperatures back down into the 80s.

The tropics may start to get more active through the month of August as sea surface temperatures continue to warm and Saharan dust subsides. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a wave in the Caribbean that pushes north of the islands in the coming days. Since the projected path has it moving over cooler water temperatures than what helped intensify Beryl, so far models are keeping this as a weaker system. Still this is something to monitor.
