New Line has come aboard to co-finance and distribute They Will Kill You , a thriller being produced by Nocturna Pictures, the horror label formed earlier this year by Skydance and It filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti.

Zazie Beetz is set to star in the feature, which is heading towards a mid-September start in South Africa.

Kirill Sokolov, who wrote and directed the 2019 black action comedy Why Don’t You Just Die! , is directing. Sokolov co-wrote the script with Alex Litvak ( Predators ).

Kill You is described as a horror feature laced with the black humor that is Sokolov’s trademark, telling the story of a woman (Beetz) who answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious high-rise in New York City, not realizing she is entering a community that has seen a number of disappearances over the years.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce via Skydance along with the Muschiettis and Dan Kagan, the former Orion executive who produced horror hit Longlegs .

Executive producing are Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder, who oversee Nocturna, along with Sokolov, Litvak, and Carl Hampe.

Kill You is a reunion of sort between New Line and the Muschiettis. Andy and Barbara Muschietti directed and produced, respectively, the two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s It . The first part became the highest grossing horror movie of all time. The second part wasn’t a clown at the box office either, with the movies giving New Line one of two of its billion-dollar horror franchises (the other one being The Conjuring Universe).
