Former USA Gymnast Claps Back At Simone Biles After Social Media Shade

Even though we won't see Team USA and Simone Biles competing until August 1 they are still celebrating their gold medal and are the talk of the Olympic world.

Tuesday saw them dominate the women's team all-around event posting a score of 171.296. A mark that was well above Italy who won silver with a 165.494 score and Brazil who nabbed bronze with a 164.497. However, the win led to quite a few amazing moments for Biles and the team. As a unit, that marked the first time since the 2016 Rio Olympics that the team was on the podium for this event.

For Biles, it was a historic gold medal. The 27-year-old became the winningest gymnast in Team USA history with eight career Olympic medals, and unlike at the Tokyo Olympics, she was able to do so in front of her family and husband. Her then-boyfriend and now husband, Jonathan Owens, who is missing NFL training camp with the Chicago Bears to watch her was unable to attend in 2020.

On top of all of this success, Biles and company were able to clap back at a former Team USA gymnast who actually questioned how good this team could be. MyKayla Skinner, who won a silver medal in the vault at the 2020 games had some major criticisms for this team.

"Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t what it used to be," Skinner said of the team's work ethic. "A lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic."

A comment that Biles and company trolled her with after winning gold, as Biles took to Instagram to poke fun at her former teammate.

"Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions ❤️🥇🇺🇸," Biles wrote on Instagram under a picture of the team with their gold medals.

On Wednesday, we got an update on what appears to be legitimate beef.

Biles took to the app formerly known as Twitter with a post indicating that she had been blocked by someone. While fans all had a great idea of who would want to block her, fellow Team USA star Jordan Chiles confirmed it with an Instagram story. Chiles took to Instagram to reveal that Skinner had in fact blocked Biles on Instagram after the post, and the major backlash she received.

This clearly is Skinner's way of responding to Biles who put her on blast.

Skinner issued an apology for the comments that she made on YouTube earlier this month, but hasn't addressed them publicly again.

It's safe to say that Biles and company haven't moved on, and that bridge is certainly burned.

Biles returns to the floor on August 1 where she will look to add another medal to her tally.
