Simone Biles is once again proving why she’s one of the most talented gymnasts in the world after her heroic comeback from a calf injury helped lead the United States to the gold medal in the Olympic all-around team event. Biles continues to cement her legacy as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time while performing her routines at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Her popularity also cements Biles as one of the most admired athletes competing this year. Her likability goes all the way back to her Olympic debut at the 2016 games in Rio. That’s where she became the first U.S. female gymnast to win four gold medals at a single Olympics, and it’s also where she first captured the hearts of American fans.

The 2016 Games in Rio also gave us the reason behind Zac Efron trending at the 2024 Olympic Games. Efron and Biles shared a special moment following her success in 2016. Biles seemed starstruck by the actor’s support at the time after the two took a photo together. Efron is still a Biles fan eight years later. After congratulating her for winning gold in Paris, the iconic photo from 2016 started to go viral again.
Biles wrote in a 2016 post that she’s “on cloud nine” after meeting Efron. She’s come a long way since then. Biles is one of the most decorated gymnasts of all time with seven total Olympic medals including four golds following the team win in Paris. She has an opportunity to win even more throughout the rest of the games.

She’s also secured one of the most honorable medals you can earn away from the gym. President Joe Biden awarded her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2022, the highest civilian honor an American can earn.
