A mom has stirred up debate online after sharing a laundry list of things she ‘refuses’ to do for her husband.

In her clip , Paige Turner made it clear that she was his wife, ‘not his mom’, and doesn’t agree with taking on more mental load than her fair share.

However, the video faced some backlash from people who claimed she was neglecting ‘small acts of kindness’ in her marriage.

But Turner’s response was, “small acts of kindness, which are mostly domestic labour, mostly just add up to work at the end of the day.”

Let’s get into it, and see if you agree with her stance or not…

I won’t breastfeed my baby because I don’t want saggy boobs — trolls say I’m selfish but it grosses me out

    “He’s a grown a– man”

“I don’t do his laundry,” she began. “He can do that himself. I do my laundry, and we do the kid’s laundry. He does his own.”

She goes on, “He cooks dinner every single night. I do breakfast and lunch for the kids. If he’s hungry, he’ll figure out what he’s gonna eat for lunch the same way that I do.”

“I don’t make his doctor’s appointments. I want him to be healthy but he’s a grown a** man, he can book his own appointments.”

Other things she won’t do include booking his haircuts, packing his clothes for holidays and buying him new underwear when his old ones have holes.

“All of those things are things he can do himself,” she claims. “I am not my husband’s personal secretary or his personal assistant, I am none of those things. I am his partner, I am his equal and I do not have to do things to cater to him and serve him at all times.”

Before you think she’s completely heartless, Turner points out that she still does small acts of kindness, but they don’t look like household tasks.

“If I see a vinyl that I think he’s gonna like, I buy it. I’m at the store and I see something that I think he might enjoy eating, I buy it,” she concludes. “But when it comes to chores, these are not acts of kindness.”

Her clip resonated with many, with some saying: “He married me, he didn’t hire me!” and “Love this for you queen!”

“Preach. Parenting your spouse is such a turn-off,” echoed another.

And someone else agreed: “Exactly how it should be. Teamwork, not servitude.”

However, someone else asked: “Why don’t you guys put all the laundry in together? It’s all getting washed anyway, this just seems like more work for everyone to me.”

“I take pride in doing all those things for my husband,” admitted someone else.

“I would do anything for my husband. He is my KING!” another woman wrote.

And this mom provided this perspective: “I’m a stay-at-home wife. I do all those things plus more and I’m very happy. If I get overwhelmed he always steps up and helps me though. Every marriage is different.”
