There's a new love story in the Olympic village and TikTok is loving every minute of it

For many Olympians in the Olympic Village the food is not the highlight.

But for one Olympian, he will beg to differ. Henrik Christiansen, a Norwegian swimmer currently at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has fallen in love with the chocolate muffins in the Olympic Village. He has taken to TikTok to chronicle his new obsession and their developing passionate affair.

The love story began when Henrik did a TikTok six days ago reviewing the food at the Village. He gave meals like pesto pasta and pork skewer a "7/10" as well as shrimp dumplings and chicken goyoza a "8/10". But it was the chocolate muffin that stole the show and was rated “11/10.” He described the treats as "insane."

Since then the self-proclaimed, The Olympic Muffin Man, has made various viral videos about the chocolatey pastry. In one video where he does a close up of the muffins over Bobby Caldwell's song What You Won't Do for Love, the Norwegian swimmer captioned the video, "the single greatest thing about the Olympic Village so far."

Another video, the 27-year-old was with a teammate at the dining hall. In the exchange, the teammates mouths the words written above him, as a different sound bite played: “I feel like you’re just here for the chocolate muffin." Henrik, as he finished taking a bite of the muffin, mouthed "What?" and looked confused. The caption for that video was "I don’t think you guys realize how good this stuff is."

And as recent as today, July 31, the Olympian made two more TikToks. The most recent one with him sniffing a chocolate croissant and looking disgusted. Then it changed to his chocolate covered mouth and smudged nose as the wind blew in his hair and a bit of Belinda's Carlisle's Heave Is a Place on Earth played from a Brother Eww Mark Kross Edit soundbite. While the muffin was not directly seen, Henrik signature chocolatey smudged face, the muffin hashtag and caption saying " Muffin reigns supreme " clued viewers in.

For fans who want to check out The Olympic Muffin Man, he will be competing again Saturday, August 3 for the men’s 1500-meter freestyle. He already did the men's 800m Freestyle and placed sixth. This is Henrik's third time at the Olympics, his first Olympics was Rio 2016.
