It's a common trait among pet parents everywhere; at one time or another, we’ve all made up a goofy little theme song for our pet. I've composed a song about my dog not eating the cat's vomit, I've composed a song about my poor cat vomiting, and I've composed a song about how cute every single one of my pets look when they are sleeping.

One pet parents who did the same thing for her adorable long haired Dachshund, realized that now this is the only way she can get her dog to come when called. Just check it out.

The hilarious video was shared by the TikTok account for @ Lord_jasper_vonwiener and people can't get enough of this tiny Dachshund's main character energy. One person commented, "Jasper always deserves to be serenaded." Another added, "Legs don’t work unless the songs on. Duh" LOL! Someone else added, 'Well someone taught him that - that’s on you LOL!"

That's so true. This dog knows that he doesn't have to move until he hears his own very special theme song. But this is a pretty common habit amongst pet parents, and I bet if you have your own dog or cat you have made up their very own song for them too.

Why Pet Parents Make Up Songs For Our Pets

The easiest answer to this question is that all of us cat and dog parents are total goofballs and we love our pets so much that we can't help but make up little songs about them. Singing about our fur babies is a way for owners to express our affection and happiness and joy at our beloved pets. It's a fun and heartfelt way to show how much we care. Our dog gets excited when we sing to him, which may be due to the change in pitch in our voices, and our cats sometimes close their eyes which shows they are content, so they must like songs too.

Singing to our pets can increase the bonds we have with them. It can also relieve stress because singing is a known stress reliever . The Humana Animal Connection explains, " Dogs recognize your voice above all others , as has been shown in fMRI brain scans. Parts of their brain light up when they hear their person's voice more than just random humans. It comforts them to hear your voice, and you can use singing to relax your dog when they are feeling some stress."  Sounds like an excellent reason to belt out that tune you wrote for your own dog to us!
