This summer has been a scorcher . With more than a months time left in the season, it sometimes feels like the heat will never end. Hot cars are not only a nuisance. They can also be dangerous to young children and babies. For new parents especially , trying to make sure your little one is safe and comfortable, while riding along in the summer heat can be a challenge. That’s where some of Amazon’s top rated products come in to help keep your kid’s cool in the car.

Why Is It Hard to Keep Kid’s Cool in the Car?

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping children in rear facing car seats for as long as possible. Rear facing is considered to be the safest position for children in the case of a car accident. However, facing away from the car’s air vents can lead to a sweaty situation for your little one. Add to that, the fact that most car seats include padding that is not very breathable. The challenge of keeping a child cool and comfortable in the car has many parents searching the internet for tools and accessories to help. 21Ninety product tested three items to see just how well they work.

    Best Car Seat Cooler

    Little Bum Coolers

You may have seen the Little Bum Cooler come across your social media timeline. At its core, the cooler is a glorified ice pack holder. The insulated item holds five ice packs. It keeps a car seat cool while you and your child are out and about running errands. Other suggested uses include using the cooler to keep food cold.

The 21Ninety team tested out this item and liked that it worked as promised. On hot days, the cooler definitely kept the car seat at a comfortable temperature. It’s no frills and easy to use. The drawback, however, is that it requires five ice packs to work as stated. They are not included in the purchase of the cooler, so if you don’t already have ice packs at home, you’ll have to purchase them to use this. That feels a bit wasteful.

    Best Window Shade

    Kinder Fluff Car Window Shade

The Kinder Fluff Car Window Shade keeps the sun out of your little one’s face while they ride. The company claims that their shade blocks 99.79 percent of Ultraviolet B radiation, which is a type of invisible ray from the sun. This set comes with two transparent and two semi-transparent shades.

The 21Ninety team tested out the shade and found that the shape was a bit odd. It was just a tad too long making the fit almost too snug. It also required using two shades to fully cover the window and there was still some window exposed. Additionally, for parents with children who love to look out the window, the shade is an unwelcome obstruction. Even the transparent option blocked too much of the view for a child or baby to see the world passing by clearly.

    Best Personal Air Conditioner

    Noggle Turbo Power

NOGGLE Turbo Power $89.98 Buy Now https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3jA332_0ujQ8z4o00

The Noggle Turbo Power may just be your solution to a hot backseat. The simple design reroutes air flow from the front of the car to the back where children or pets are sitting. It’s fairly easy to install and you can set up in a variety of different ways.

The 21Ninety team tested out the Noggle and liked the ease of use. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and gives parents some peace of mind. However, for those who are neat freaks, the bulky design can feel a bit overwhelming. Plus, if you have curious children they may be drawn to the device and attempt to play with it or even pull it down from where it is hanging. Still, overall it’s a fairly inexpensive solution to keeping your car cooler in the summer heat.
