Ozzy Osbourne Introduces His New Rescue Dog, a Bulldog Named Bugzy

Ozzy Osbourne may be known as the Prince of Darkness, but he’s on old softy when it comes helping out a furry pet in need. On the latest episode of his SiriusXM radio show Ozzy Speaks, Osbourne revealed that he recently welcomed a rescue dog into his family.

Speaking with his co-host, fellow rocker Billy Morrison, the heavy metal legend reported that his new dog is a bulldog named Bugzy, and that the pooch had been badly mistreated by a former owner.

“He was gonna be [named] Andy for a second,” Osbourne noted, adding, “I wish he was, because I can remember … [Bugzy].”

Ozzy continued, “He had a rough beginning. Somebody set him on fire and f—ing starved him and everything. … So, I paid for his medical bills, and I said, ‘Can we have him?’ … I said to [my wife] Sharon, ‘Get on the f—ing phone and see what we can do.’”

Osbourne also revealed that Bugzy has adjusted quickly to life in his household.

“He’s on the f—ing bed at night with me now, farting,” the singer explained. “Sharon said the other day, she said, ‘You know what? It’s like he’s … always been here.’”

Bugzy Was First Introduced in May

Bugzy was first introduced on the May 28, 2024, episode of The Osbournes podcast, although the family hadn’t chosen a name for him at the time.

On the episode, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she found out about the dog when she came upon a TikTok post from the California-based Underdog Heroes Rescue organization.

Sharon noted that the pooch had been set on fire by his owner and was very skinny when he was found by a man who brought him to Underdog Heroes.

Sharon praised the organization, noting, “I want to give a huge shout-out to [the two women behind Underdog Heroes], who have dedicated their lives with this rescue. And everything they do is to rescue dogs that have been harmed, and they find the best homes.”

Also during the episode, Ozzy, Sharon and their kids Jack and Kelly bandied about ideas for names for the dog, including Porkchop, Walter, and Baby. They also asked fans for suggestions from fans.

The Osbournes Announced the Dog’s Name on Their Podcast

The Osbournes announced that Bugzy was the name chosen for the dog on the June 28 episode of the podcast.

Sharon then shared that his nickname was “Bug,” adding, “He’s the best-est little Bug in the world.”

Ozzy noted, “I have so much fun with him.” He then talked about how Bugzy would quietly creep into bed with him.
