New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) talks with wide receiver Garrett Wilson (5) during training camp.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and young wide receiver Garrett Wilson have gone viral during training camp practices for what could be referred to as animated conversations involving the two.

Rodgers and Wilson both addressed those moments while speaking with reporters on Wednesday.

"Details are most important," Rodgers said, as shared by Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports. "Second part is the addition to it, but it needs to start with a full understanding of the offense and all the details and the intricacies, and then adding the other little special sauce that [Wilson] has."

While Rodgers is still shaking off rust he accumulated after he essentially missed the entire 2023 season due to the torn Achilles he suffered last September, Wilson is looking to put what he previously referred to as "the worst year of [his] life" behind him. On Wednesday, Rodgers poured cold water over any idea he and Wilson have anything but a positive working relationship, and Wilson seemed to echo his quarterback.

"I mean, those videos, they look a certain way," Wilson said. "We're both passionate guys on the football field. ...We're both like-minded. We're trying to figure out a way to try to attack our defense. He'll tell me why he needed me at this step. I play receiver, so I'm like, 'Man, I was open here.' That's how I am."

Wilson is eligible to sign a contract extension next offseason and likely realizes that thriving as Rodgers' favorite target could result in the 24-year-old becoming a more expensive commodity and in the 2024 Jets getting to where they want to go. The third-year pro insisted that alleged heated conversations he has with Rodgers during summer practices will help the Jets get "better" before their regular-season opener at the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 9.

"We're gaining an understanding for each other and the way we go about things, the way we think and interpret the game," Wilson added about his interactions with Rodgers. "It's truly enlightening for me every time we have convos like that, despite how it may look. ...He can make your life real easy. So for me, it's my job to be on my details, and he's been on me about those details."

Disagreements among teammates are common as they work underneath the hot summer sun during what can become tedious practice sessions. The Jets will only need to begin worrying about Rodgers and Wilson if they are on different pages during the "Monday Night Football" matchup versus the Niners.
