Soap opera viewers know Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis, General Hospital ) as a daytime legend with nearly four decades of soap opera acting and numerous accolades. But she’s also a bit of a comedian’s sidekick, as it turns out! The actress has been known to appear alongside her daughter, musician Kate Grahn, on TikTok from time to time. And the duo’s most recent collab on the social media platform is hilarious as Kate pokes fun at her mother’s career!

Kate is a prolific content creator on TikTok, with over 10,000 followers, and recently convinced her mom to start her own account. The video the pair shared on July 30 jumps on the viral “of course” trend, where people introduce themselves and humorously share pieces of their life. For the Grahns, the video was all about Kate’s life as the daughter of a soap opera actress — and she slayed it!

Throughout the video, Kate goes through a list of skills she’s garnered as a result of having a mom who acts on daytime television, with Grahn on the receiving end of those tricks of the trade. “My mom’s a soap opera actress. Of course, I know how to do a fake slap,” Kate began the video, then hauled off and took her mom by surprise with a smack across the cheek. “That wasn’t fake!” cried out the stunned GH star.

Kate went on to demonstrate her impeccable crying-on-cue skills, her ability to throw a drink in someone’s face (aka her mom!), and how to dispose of a dead body (by pushing Grahn off a dock into the water).

Of course, the GH audience is familiar with Grahn, who has played Alexis Davis on the soap for almost 28 years. Before that, she made her daytime debut on One Life To Live in 1978 when she was cast as Marco Dane’s secretary, Beverly Wilkes — a role she played until 1982. In 1985, Grahn joined the cast of Santa Barbara, earning her first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1989. Since moving across the dial to GH in 1996, Grahn has garnered nine more Emmy nominations and took home her second Supporting Actress trophy in 2012.

Introducing the video on her own TikTok, the star wrote, “My daughter Kate, living her best life.”

We’ve known for quite a while that Kate is a talented singer , but now we know her acting skills can rival her mom’s, too! Props to Grahn for being such a good sport!
