Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is already gearing up for its return this fall, sharing a new teaser featuring Mariska Hargitay as Captain Olivia Benson, and while fans were excited, they got a little distracted by the actress' impressive "face card."
In the new clip Hargitay shared on Instagram, a moody close-up video of Benson played as she said in voiceover, "I'm not asking you to trust the system, I'm asking you to trust me," before noting that the new season will premiere on Oct. 3, 2024.
Responding to Benson's impressive quote in the clip, fans exclaimed, "Who could possibly not trust Olivia Benson ?!?! 😍🔥," and "Yas!! Because IN OLIVIA BENSON WE TRUST! 🥹❤️✊🏻."
But many couldn't help but focus on how beautiful Hargitay looked in the video, with one enthusiastic fan writing, "face card never ever declines ❤️🔥."
"Okay face card," said another, as someone else replied, "Oh mother is mothering!!! Face card never declines!!! 🙌🏿😍❤️🔥."
A different fan commented on Hargitay's good looks, saying, "Wow. I swear Captain Benson gets hotter every season 😍🔥🔥."
"I replayed this video like 20 times In a role [sic] the facecard is just insaneee 😍🔥," retorted one particularly devoted fan.
The actress has starred as the character Benson since 1999, with guest appearances on other franchise shows Law & Order and Law & Order: Organized Crime .
While she's on a break from work, Hargitay has been enjoying her summer with friends in the sun, recently heading to the Hamptons before traveling to Paris, France, to support the U.S.A. team at the Olympics.
Her husband, Peter Hermann , joined her in Europe, and Hargitay shared a clip with fans as she excitedly watched a diving event: "Wow is correct!🔥."
Other celebrities like Jennifer Hudson , Tom Cruise , and even Kylie and Jason Kelce were also in the French capital to watch the games.
