Anthony Gordon has shown his class and generously donated £10,000 ($12,860) to a GoFundMe account set up in response to the horrific mass stabbing in Southport on Monday.

The dance community initiated the fund following the tragedy that claimed the lives of three girls and injured ten others at a Taylor Swift-themed event. The victims of this shocking incident were Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine; Bebe King, six; and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven.

In addition to these tragic losses, eight more children and two adults sustained injuries. Communities both locally and further afield - including a group of Taylor Swift fans - are now rallying around to support the victims and their families.

Among those to lend their support is 23-year-old England and Newcastle United star Gordon. The former Everton player, who grew up in Liverpool and has been linked with a return to the city to join the Reds , made the largest contribution so far to the 'Southport Dance Group Emergency Fund'.

As of Wednesday evening, the fund had raised nearly £50,000 in total. Gordon's donation was confirmed by GoFundMe to the Liverpool ECHO.

Merseyside Police has arrested a 17-year-old male from Banks in Lancashire on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection with the attack. While the motive behind this horrifying act remains 'unclear', the police have stated it is not being treated as terror-related.
