When I was pregnant with my second child, the question I fielded the most frequently wasn’t “ what name are you thinking of ?” or “are you ready for two ?” No. It was, “what double stroller are you gonna get?” Since my answers to the former were “I don’t know” and “No,” there was no way I was ready to even begin my research into the latter. So many options! Bassinet attachments, car seat adapters, PiggyBack boards, three-wheelers vs four-wheelers? I could only wrap my mind around so much! So, I decided to wait until I actually knew what it was like to have to push around two kids with their own personalities and affinities. Turns out, it became quite apparent that even though a tandem convertible, like the UPPABaby Vista V2 , works wonders for some families, I’d be better off with a side-by-side situation (like the Zoe TwinV2 )—for lots of reasons: among them the fact that we live in the city and my toddler most definitely wanted to be in view of her new baby brother. Thank goodness there are so many amazing stroller options—and double stroller options for that matter—on the market, addressing different family needs, whether it be a product that stores easily, can handle rough terrain or simply looks sleek. Here, the best eight double strollers according to real parents with two or more kids.

How I Chose the Best Strollers

To compile this list of the best double strollers, I researched the latest models from reputable brands, focusing on features, customer reviews, and, most importantly, parent recommendations. I also made sure to consider various types of double strollers to ensure a selection that meets diverse family needs and lifestyles. Additionally, I analyzed the strollers' performance, durability, and unique characteristics (like storage and configuration options) to provide a well-rounded overview.

    The Types of Double Strollers

There are several types of double strollers, designed to meet different needs and preferences—and every year, new products come out with new solutions. But here are the most common double stroller types.

    1. Zoe TwinV2

I knew that my 3-year-old would not be into a convertible, stacked double stroller setup. She’d want eyes on the road and her baby brother. So when I showed her the Zoe TwinV2, she was excited to hop on in, and phew, because I’m not sure I could take another stroller-related tantrum . As for the baby, at 6 months, I felt comfortable enough to let him lounge in the laid back infant position while his big sis sat upright, munching on Goldfish she placed herself in the snack bar (not included, but I will say the Zoe brand accessories, including the organizer, seem to be higher quality than other stroller accessories I’ve purchased). Extra points for *actually* easy-to-use (and comfortable!) five-point harnesses—and by easy-to-use, I mean my parents even got the hang of the straps on first use. As for the kiddos, I love that they can see each other, but not bother each other. They’ve got room to grow, but the seats are still cozy. And for me, since we live in the city, I appreciate that I can maneuver the double through a door frame so I can run errands or grab coffee with kids in tow. Overall, I’d say that even though the Zoe TwinV2 is marketed as a lightweight double, it operates more like a Cadillac; it’s sturdy, and roomy. Still, its one-and-done folding mechanism makes it a best-in-class travel and city stroller.

    2. Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller

    Jillian Quint

If you’re on the fence between the Baby Jogger and the UPPABaby Vista2, it might come down to the weight limits. The City Select Double goes up to 45 pounds per seat, totaling 90 pounds, while the Vista2’s limit is 75 pounds. So if your kids like being in a stroller, and you can imagine pushing them along for a while, this might be the option for you. Jillian Quint, PureWow’s Editor in Chief , raved about the Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller: “I love that two growing kids so easily fit in this stroller and grow with it. When my daughter was a newborn, we inserted her car seat, then when she was old enough, we plopped in the second stroller seat and put her in that. Additionally, I love that there are so many configurations (seats can go forward or backward, face each other, etc.) meaning the kids can change up their positions as they age. And finally, my main requirement for a double stroller was that it was narrow--I live in the city, and needed something where the kids sat front to back (rather than side to side) so we could walk down the sidewalk without being in everybody's way.” Word to the wise (or anybody living in a four-story walkup), the stroller is heavy. Quint found it impossible to get up and down stairs and kind of a pain to fold down. (You have to take the seats out, then collapse it.) “I would not recommend this to anybody who needs to fold it, carry it or otherwise put it away on a daily basis.”

    3. Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie

Off-roading? Park-blazing? Jogging from daycare to dance class? This stroller is for you. I’ll say off the bat that if you are not in the business of running, let alone running with tots in tow, you probably don’t need the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie. If you are, then you’ve found your stroller since BOB strollers are designed for active parents who seek out off-road adventures. Me? I’m afraid of ticks and spraining my ankle. My husband, on the other hand, was ecstatic that he could not only take the kids out, but break a sweat while doing so. (which I love, too, because it means I can sneak in some alone time and Love Island ).

    4. Mockingbird Single-to-Double 2.0

    Alyce Tassoni

Families love Mockingbird as a sleek, more cost-effective alternative to high-end convertible stroller brands (think: Nuna or UPPAbaby). Grow from one to two with the 2nd Seat Kit ($145), and choose from 22+ arrangements based on your children's age and preferences. (You can also use the Riding Board as a fun way for a second child to ride behind, or to stroll with three!) Plus, the colorways are more customizable. Choose between a selection of trendy tones and pick interior fabrics. Mom of twins, Alyce Tassoni, PureWow Director, Brand Partnerships, used the Mockingbird Single-to-Double as a double straight out of the gate: “I used this stroller three to five times a week with my twins from ages 0 to 1. In their first 2 months, I could fit both twins in the bassinet attachment to nap on short walks together in our neighborhood. Once they grew out of that, I used two car seat adapters to easily put their Chicco infant car seats into the stroller when going out in public.”  Tassoni also notes that the stroller opens and closes very easily with one hand (clutch!)  and didn’t take up too much space in her SUV's trunk. “The stroller also has a very large storage basket on the bottom—larger than the Zoe!” she shares.

    5. BABYZEN YOYO Double Connect Accessory + YOYO2

    Franny Liebman

As a single stroller, I love the BABYZEN YOYO2. It’s extremely lightweight, compact and comfortable (at least according to my 3-year-old)—it’s our main mode of transportation for going back and forth to daycare. So when my friend Franny tried out the YOYO2 with the Double Connect Accessory, transforming the single into a double for her newborn and toddler, I had to ask how it fared. Raving about the versatility, here’s what Franny told me: “We live in the city on a third floor walkup and have very limited storage space for a stroller. The YOYO double stores compactly, and each stroller frame is designed to be stored separately, allowing us to easily fold both and store in the trunk of the car or in a closet. It also gives amazing flexibility if we only need to use it as a single or as a double. I also love how lightweight the stroller frames are—I can easily bring them up stairs with baby in tow, no problem. Finally, it’s very easy to clip the strollers together and then off we go. We have been using the bassinet attachment on walks and car seat adopter for quick errands on the go.” With a narrow design and small footprint, it’s good for crowded areas, like a visit to the zoo). That said, the travel-sized components mean that navigating with two can be more challenging. For a travel solution, the BABYZEN YOYO2 with Double Connect Accessory is brilliant. But as your kids get heavier, for every day, longer walks, circumventing puddles and potholes? Not so much.

    Alexia Dellner

“This stroller is a workhorse,” shares Alexia Dellner , PureWow Executive Editor. “It's sturdy, (I've pushed it over forest terrain and cobbled European streets), and it has tons of storage space ( diaper bag ? no problem). I knew that pushing two small kids would be tough so I definitely wanted something that could handle all that weight, and the UPPABaby does, no problem. The seats are also spacious, and you can connect your infant car seat into the stroller, which is super convenient. There are multiple figurations, although TBH, we just stuck with one (toddler seat at the bottom facing out; infant up top facing me)—this was partly because it made the most sense for my kids' ages, but also partly because it was easier to not have to reassemble it each time. Also great—you can purchase a PiggyBack board for the back, an option we sometimes used when my son didn't want to sit down or when we picked up a friend in the park!” Dellner notes that the double configuration is super sturdy, which can make it cumbersome to push around tight spaces (think: grocery aisles.) “But it’s a necessary trade off if you want to feel like you can leave the kids in there for a second while you grab the milk without worrying that someone is going to topple over!” Once Dellner’s eldest grew out of the stroller, the family converted it back easily to a single. Boom.
