New Disclosure By Joe Hendry Suggests His Long-Term Future Is Likely With WWE

Joe Hendry has become a prominent part of WWE’s NXT brand in recent weeks thanks to their working relationship with TNA. And now, three weeks after the Scottish wrestler was added to the official roster page on WWE.com , there is another sign his long-term future is likely to be with WWE.

This is because Hendry disclosed during an interview with Matt Camp that he has been training full-time at the WWE Performance Center following an invite from Shawn Michaels. At present, it isn’t known how much longer remains on Hendry’s TNA deal, although typically, the promotion doesn’t offer contracts for more than a year or two, and he began working for them back in January.

“For me personally, from a training perspective, Shawn’s giving me a huge opportunity, and Shawn said, ‘Hey, this door is open. If you want to train at the Performance Center, we’re gonna open that door.’ I was like, ‘Let’s do it.’ I said, ‘Give me a week to sort out my real-life stuff back home in Scotland, and let’s go.’ We figured it out. So right now, I’m training at the Performance Center, and I’m here in Orlando, and I’m getting this amazing opportunity to learn from the greatest in-ring performer of all time.”

36-year-old Hendry broke into the business in 2013, having trained under multiple British wrestlers, including former WWE wrestler Killian Dain. From there, he became a regular on the UK indie scene and even worked for ROH during their 2016 tour of the country. Still, it was during his two spells in Impact Wrestling/TNA that most fans discovered how charismatic and entertaining he was. Therefore, having built up a substantial cult following on social media, it is easy to comprehend why it was decided that he and Jordynne Grace would be the faces of TNA in NXT.
