Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson make feelings on each other clear after Jets practice footage

There appears to be no bad blood between New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Garrett Wilson - despite recent incidents involving the pair of teammates suggesting otherwise.

On Saturday, eagle-eyed fans spotted Rodgers and Wilson engaging in a heated back-and-forth argument on the sideline during Jets training camp. Several days later, the pair appeared to once again butt heads during an animated discussion following a botched play.

The series of clips sent the internet into a tailspin, with many viewers suggesting that there could be trouble in paradise. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, however, both Rodgers and Wilson downplayed the incidents.

“I think there’s often appearance vs. reality in life and on the football field,” Rodgers began. “And what it appears to be might not always be what the reality actually is. As far as whether or not we’re upset with each other, we’re just passionately talking about the details of a situation that might not have to do with either of us.

“G and I got a great relationship. We spend time together off the field. On the field, there’s a way of doing things that we both agree on.”

According to Rodgers, difficult conversations such as the ones he’s recently had with Wilson are necessary in order to build chemistry and get on the same page with teammates.

“I love those conversations,” he continued. “It’s about the details, it’s about winning, it’s about seeing what he sees.

"He's got to get on my page, but I have to get on his page, too, because he's got a whole book that I need to understand fully - skill set and ability and feel and rhythm and all the different things that he does out there. So those are good conversations.

“They might appear to be much more heated than they are, but there's usually a smile on our face afterwards - at least one of us."

Wilson expressed a similar sentiment, adding that the aforementioned discussions are helping both him and Rodgers improve their play.

“Whenever we’re out there having those conversations and getting the way we are, we’re getting better,” he told reporters. “We’re gaining an understanding for each other and the way we go about things, the way we think and interpret the game.

"It's truly enlightening for me every time we have problems like that, despite how it may look, just because I am an emotional, passionate guy. So, when we lose, I might look a certain way, but in reality, all those conversations, those things are helping me be better for Aaron because he can make your life real easy.

“So, for me, it's my job to be on my details and he's been on me about those details."

The Rodgers-Wilson connection has shown flashes of brilliance this offseason, with the QB routinely finding the WR1 for long gains in practice. But it seems as though the pair are still working on building a rapport after the four-time MVP tore his Achilles just four snaps into last season.
