    TVLine Items: Minka Kelly’s Netflix Rom-Com, ‘Bat Boy’ Series and More

    Minka Kelly will tackle Champagne Problems this holiday season.

    The actress is set to star in the upcoming Netflix film as a mergers and acquisitions executive who travels to France just before Christmas to close a deal for a beloved champagne brand, per The Hollywood Reporter . But things get complicated when she finds herself in a whirlwind romance with a Parisian stranger who happens to be the son of the champagne company’s founder.

    Additional character details, as well as an official release date, have not yet been revealed.

    * Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ( Riverdale ) and Joe Tracz ( Percy Jackson and the Olympians ) are teaming up for a live-action series about Bat Boy, the half-bat, half-boy who was a tabloid fixture in the 1990s, Deadline reports.

    The coming-of-age series will follow Bobby Bates, who re-enters society with the help of fellow teens Charisma and her weird sister Olive after living secluded in a long-dissipated carnival. As a student at Cypressville High, he’ll attempt to find his place among his peers and work on solving a mystery bubbling up from the Florida swamps — all while rocking bat-like features and navigating a need for human blood.

    * Hulu has ordered to series the documentary Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara , about the elaborate catfishing scheme targeting fans of the Canadian indie rock duo, according to Deadline .

    * Abraham Popoola (Netflix’s Atlas , Andor ) will star opposite Nicolas Cage in MGM+ and Prime Video’s live-action series Spider-Noir , per Deadline .

    * Netflix has renewed Unsolved Mysteries for Volume 5, TVLine has confirmed. All four episodes are slated to drop sometime this October.

    * Child Star , a new documentary about the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight, will premiere Tuesday, Sept. 17 on Hulu. Directed by Demi Lovato, the doc includes interviews with Drew Barrymore, Raven-Symoné, Christina Ricci, JoJo Siwa, Kenan Thompson and more.

    * Prime Video has greenlit Every Year After , based on the novel Every Summer After by Carley Fortune. The premise: “Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A week to get it right. Every Year After is a fun, sweeping, romantic story that asks the question, what if your first love actually was your soulmate?” Leila Gerstein, who created Hart of Dixie and Saint X and won an Emmy for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale , will serve as showrunner.

    * Netflix has released the full trailer for the animated series Terminator Zero , premiering Thursday, Aug. 29:
