This Subscription Box for Dogs Offers Near-Indestructible Toys Every Month—Here's What My 2 German Shepherds Think

If Sasha’s cute face seems familiar, it’s possibly because you read my BarkBox review , where I went over all the reasons why both of my dogs are big fans of the premium dog toy and treat subscription box —and why it’s worth every penny for me. As much as I love BarkBox, I was curious to try out the brand’s subscription box designed specifically for enthusiastic chewers: Superchewer .

While I’ve personally found BarkBox’s toys to be super durable, I was interested in having the girls test out toys that are even more almost-indestructible . For some context: Sasha and Pepper are both 90-something-pound German Shepherds who love to chew, chew, and chew some more. Sasha especially can always be found with a toy in her mouth, and before I discovered BarkBox, she was unintentionally destroying her toys on the daily.

Read on to find out whether or not I think Superchewer is worth it for my two super chewer dogs.

    What’s Superchewer?

Superchewer is pretty similar to BarkBox: It’s a dog subscription service that delivers toys and treats, except the difference is that the toys are made with even tougher, more durable material. You can choose from month-to-month service, a six-month membership, or an annual, and each month’s box has a unique theme.

    What Superchewer Comes With

Superchewer comes with two toys and two full-size bags of treats. The treats are somewhat customizable based on your dog’s allergies and/or diet preferences.

    How Much Does Superchewer Cost?

The cost of a Superchewer subscription box depends on your membership. For a single box, it’s a $45. Signing up for a 6-month membership, it’s $35, and if you get a year-long subscription, it’ll cost you $30.

Is Superchewer Worth It? My Honest Thoughts

I’ve been testing Superchewer, specifically, for about a month. The toys are, in fact, very durable. July’s box was lake-themed, and came with a hard frisbee toy that doubles as a rope, a hard fish that doubles as a ball, and a hard canoe-shaped toy that’s bone-like, and meant to be chewed on. The canoe alone has occupied both Sasha and Pepper for hours, with both of them taking turns gnawing on the boat like they would one of their bones or bully sticks. Sasha also really love the fish. The frisbee? Not as much—but I’m excited to see what next month’s box will bring!

The box also came with the two bags of treats that I’m used to getting with BarkBox, plus a meal topper (a little bonus) that Pepper couldn’t get enough of. I’d love at least a few more months to gauge whether or not these toys really last, but so far so good: The dogs are really loving the assortment, and I haven’t found a piece of toy stuffing yet.

Whether or not Superchewer is worth it: I think it’s super worth it if you have a dog (or multiple dogs) who destroy regular toys. It’s certainly not cheap (I’d recommend at least starting with a 6-month subscription), but if you’re already buying new toys every month to replace the ones your dog destroyed, it may be financially worth it. Plus, you get two full-size bags of treats every month, which I was getting anyway.

    Pros

    -Cute themes every month
-Comes with two full-size, high-quality treats
-Really fun for both dog and dog parents

    Cons

    -Can be pricey for some
