Exercise is an important part of a dog's day. And for some, space is minimal so you have to get creative when it comes to walks and play time. A family of eight Dachshunds who began in an apartment have just gotten the surprise of their lives with a backyard as big as a playground.

In a recent TikTok video posted by The Weens ( @yunabugs ) shows the story of the happy Dachshunds seeing their new backyard for the first time and it's a heartfelt tear-jerker. Watch this sweet clip and try not to cry!

"Their dream backyard. Time to turn it into an oasis," the caption reads. In the 59-second clip, the story unfolds about this perfect family of eight Dachshunds. From their "very first apartment to cramped up zoomies in the room," the video shows a montage of moments over the years.

"To finding joy in the darkest of times, to fighting over a little spot on our little bed," the video says. "To making the best out of rainy days, to the little green couch we slept on for awhile. To losing friends along the way to sticking together thought it all. To our little backyard that was just enough, to the backyard they deserve."

The video concludes by showing the "weens" running out into their huge new backyard, absolutely thrilled for all the space. They run and play, so joyful it's hitting people in the feels.

"Boots the oldest and yet was able to see a big backyard to call their own. All the weens are happy but for a senior dog that is the best thing you can surprise her with," one person remarked. "I love it. They deserve it. Happy for you all!" another said. "I’m not crying, you’re crying. My heart is so full for y’all," another added.

This is an incredible story of how everything can change and this family of pups is so grateful for it all.

How Much Exercise Do Dachshunds Need?

Greencross Vets says caring for Dachshunds isn't a lot of work, but they do need a "moderate amount" of exercise, which can be a couple 10-minute walks a day, games, or fetch inside or outside. These little sweeties have a lot of energy and stamina, so whether they live in a big home or an apartment, daily walks and/or playing outside is necessary.

Like wise, this breed needs adequate mental stimulation so they don't get bored and turn to destructive behaviors.

The family of eight Dachshunds will have plenty of room to run and play for as long or as little as they want. But no matter where they've lived or how much space they've had, they've loved being surrounded by those that love them most and that's the most special thing!
