    VOICE GROWING LOUDER

“I Can See Your Voice,” the mystery music show which has been a hit format for South Korea’s CJ ENM , will strike a new chord with its 30th local adaptation set for Singapore .

The show in which guests have to identify whether the contestants are genuinely talented singers or bad singers based solely on lip-syncing and body language, is set to be adapted by public broadcaster Mediacorp . The aim is to eliminate the poor singers while identifying the talented ones to emerge as the winner.

It has previously been given local editions in countries including the U.S., the U.K, Germany, France, Thailand and the Philippines.

“[The adapted show is] set to bring our audiences weeks of family-friendly, dynamic entertainment. Beyond the excitement and suspense that comes with game shows, fans can also look forward to the unique showcase of raw performing talent beyond conventional singing abilities,” said Mediacorp’s chief content officer, Virginia Lim .

    SCAM SCANDAL SERIES

Australia’s Lingo Pictures has secured the rights to adapt journalist Rick Morton ’s book “Mean Streak” for the screen. The mini-series “Robodebt” is being developed for ABC iview and ABC TV and tells the emotionally compelling story of one of the most egregious, large-scale failures in Australian government history. The Robodebt scandal resulted in Australia’s largest class action; it cost the federal government A$1.8 billion ($1.18 billion) and involved compensation being paid to more than half a million people.

Lingo Pictures’ secured the rights for Morton’s currently unpublished book from publisher HarperCollins. The series writing team will be led by Stuart Page (“Total Control”), with Magda Wozniak (“The Messenger”) and Sophie Miller (“Family Law”). Helen Bowden will produce for Lingo Pictures with Jason Stephens and Stuart Page as executive producers. ITV Studios will handle international sales.

“It’s one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in Australian history and we will focus on the human stories: the grieving mothers whose sons took their own lives; the Centrelink worker who blew the whistle after decades of loyalty; and the digital activists who helped bring the scandal to light,” said Lingo’s Helen Bowden .
