There would be less clean-up if the city would open more housing shelters. No vet should be living on the street, I don't care what the circumstances are, NO VETS SHOULD BE LIVING IN THE STREETS. The majority of the homeless are vets and a percentage of mentally disabled people, too. There should be more hospitals too for the mentally unstable. Mental health is a major issue. The US is so in a hurry to assist other countries with aid, but how come we can't help home first? There's never any money in the budget to help those here first. Do other countries send us aid? Why can't the US help here first before sending aid elsewhere? The homeless deserve better.
