Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has confirmed that Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate will play a part in the final pre-season friendly in the USA against Manchester United this weekend.

Diogo Jota made his first appearance of the summer as Liverpool beat Arsenal in Philadelphia, with Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho both on the scoresheet at Lincoln Financial Field. But there are still eight more senior stars yet to meet Slot in person; only once Liverpool returns to Merseyside will those players come back from their holidays and rejoin the group.

"Yes we will [see Gravenberch and Konate vs Manchester United] if they stay fit in the upcoming two days," Slot told LFCTV after the Arsenal game. "They will play like Diogo, 45 minutes against United.

"Pleased to see they are back, they came back in real good shape. [I’m] looking forward to seeing them in a game because I think both of them have shown they are very good players."

Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz , Darwin Nunez and Alisson Becker have all been recovering following their Copa America exertions. Gravenberch, Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cody Gakpo are still away following the European Championship.

Liverpool.com says: The Reds' roster keeps increasing in size which will be important as the opening fixture against Ipswich Town edges closer and closer. Slot will have hardly any time to work with the players who are yet to come back from their summer break but the likes of Mac Allister and Alexander-Arnold should be able to slot straight back in.

Things will be different under the new head coach but not so drastically that experienced players won't be able to adapt. There is the Sevilla friendly at Anfield that will help with that and Liverpool might also have another game booked in soon with talks underway with Las Palmas for another behind-closed-doors match .
