Byeon Woo-Seok ‘s Lovely Runner has arrived on Netflix on Thursday, August 1, 2024 . The streamer released all 16 episodes at once. Also starring Kim Hye-Yoon, the K-drama originally broadcasted on tvN and streamed on Rakuten Viki.

Byeon Woo-Seok plays K-pop star Ryu Sun-Jae, and Kim Hye-Yoon plays his fan, Im Sol. The story revolves around the themes of romance, time travel, and fantasy.  On Netflix, the synopsis reads, “Years after a K-pop star saves her life, a fan learns of his death — but when she’s suddenly transported to the past, she sets out to change their fate.”

Originally, instead of Netflix, Viki streamed the tvN drama. It premiered on April 8, 2024, and ended on May 28, 2024. Thanks to an interesting storyline and stellar cast, the series became one of the most highly-rated shows of this year. It is based on a popular webtoon , The Best of Tomorrow, by Kim Bbang.

Lovely Runner tells the story of Im Sol, an ardent fan of K-pop idol Sun-Jae. When he suddenly dies, her world comes crashing down. Mysteriously, Im Sol travels back ten years to when she was in high school. She finds out that Sun-Jae is a swimmer and her neighbor. This time, Im Sol decides to change his tragic future.
