Barcelona have made a decisive move in the transfer market by reportedly agreeing to personal terms with RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo.

The Spanish international, who once called Barcelona's La Masia academy his home, is now poised for a return to the Camp Nou.

This comes after Barcelona's initial target, Nico Williams, decided to stay at Athletic Club until at least 2025, despite interest from top clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea.

Dani Olmo: The perfect alternative to Nico Williams

With Nico Williams opting to remain at Athletic Club, Barcelona quickly shifted their focus to Dani Olmo.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blaugrana have offered Olmo a contract running until 2030. The proposed deal includes a guaranteed €55 million ($59.3m) transfer fee, plus €4 million ($4.3m) in "easy add-ons" and another €3 million ($3.2m) in "difficult add-ons."

Olmo's potential arrival marks a significant boost for Barcelona's attacking options. Last season, he contributed nine goals and assists in just 21 Bundesliga appearances and played a pivotal role in Spain's European Championship success. At 26, Olmo brings experience and a creative flair, making him an ideal addition to Xavi's squad.

The move also signifies a homecoming for Olmo, who spent seven formative years in Barcelona's La Masia academy before leaving for Dinamo Zagreb in 2014.

After a successful stint in Croatia and subsequent move to Leipzig for €29 million ($31.3m), Olmo has amassed 148 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 34 assists.

As Barcelona continues their summer rebuild, Olmo could become their second major signing, following Pau Victor's arrival from Girona.

With Bayern Munich and Manchester United also showing interest, Barcelona acted swiftly to secure Olmo's services, reinforcing their attacking lineup for the upcoming season.
