USA star Katie Ledecky was too fast even for the NBC cameras during her 1500-meter gold medal swim.

The 27-year-old demolished a world-class field to win a record 12th Olympic medal.

Ledecky went off as the overwhelming favorite in Paris having held the 19th fastest times in the history of the event.

She got off to a strong start and never let her opponents get back into the race, leading by almost 8 seconds at the 1200-meter mark.

And even NBC ‘s cameramen appeared unprepared for the sheer size of her victory.

During the race from the Aquatics Center in the French capital, the broadcaster was forced to change the camera angle dramatically.

Ledecky was so far ahead of the pack the cameras had to zoom right out to show the entire pool to showcase her nearest competitor.

“This is what a dominant athlete looks like,” gasped one fan on X in response to the footage.

“Change the name of the race. Just call it the Katie Ledecky,” joked another.

“The definition of me, myself, and I in a good way. Utter and absolute domination,” commented a third.

“My favorite moment of the Games so far,” said another.

Ledecky was the defending Olympic champion in the 1500 m and is a five-time world champion at the distance.

French swimmer Anastasiia Kirpichinikova finished nearly a half-lap behind in second.

The bronze went to Germany’s Isabel Gose.

Ledecky will go for gold once again in the 800 meter freestyle later this week.

Another triumph would see Ledecky become the first woman to win nine gold medals in swimming.

Following her win on Wednesday, Ledecky downplayed any plans of retirement.

She indicated she is targeting a return to action in front of a home crowd in Los Angeles in 2028.

“I’ve been consistent over these last few months and last few years in saying that I would love to compete in LA and that hasn’t changed,” Ledecky said.

“That could change. I mean, you never know.

“So, I really just take it year by year at this point and I really haven’t thought much beyond this week in terms of what my fall is going to look like, what my next year is going to look like.

“But yeah, I don’t feel like I’m close to being finished in the sport yet.”
