JAMAICAN dancehall vocalist Vybz Kartel has been released from prison after 13 years and is engaged to Sidem Ozturk.

While the couple have kept their relationship private, a wedding could soon be on the cards after Kartel was released from prison.

Who is Vybz Kartel’s fiancee Sidem Ozturk?

Sidem Ozturk is a British citizen social worker who reportedly lives in Jamaica.

She got engaged to the dancehall artist in the summer of 2022 during an authorized prison visit.

Sidem studied psychology and was employed in London as a social worker helping vulnerable adults and children.

But she left it all behind to move to Kingston, Jamaica, to be closer to Kartel.

The graduate reportedly started talking with the Conjugal Visit star back in 2015 but didn’t meet him until 2019.

Speaking to Fox5 New York, she said: “He’s smart, I love his heart, he’s got an amazing heart and he’s so giving and so loving, and I just like to call him my angel.

“It’s just, he’s an angel in my life and I can’t deny the way he makes me feel and how happy he makes me feel.

“So the actually be here, in Jamaica, engaged to Addi is dream come true.

“I don’t even know how to describe how I feel. That’s how good it feels.”

Why did Vybz Kartel go to prison?

Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, was arrested in 2011 with three other men for the murder of their associate Clive “Lizard” Williams.

In 2014, he was sentenced to 35 years in prison, which was later reduced on appeal to 32-and-a-half.

Kartel’s conviction was overturned by UK judges in March and on August 1, 2024, the court of appeal ruled against a retrial for the artist and he was freed from prison after 13 years.

The artist has always maintained his innocence regarding the accusation.

His trial in 2014 heard that victim Clive and another man named Lamar Chow where given two unlicensed firearms that belonged to Kartel for safekeeping.

When they reportedly didn’t return them at an agreed time, prosecutors say the two were ordered to Kartel’s house in August 2011.

Chow told the trial that they were attacked and last saw Clive Williams laying on the ground.

Days later the house was burned down and Clive’s body has never been found.
