Dustin Johnson enjoys Italian vacation with stunning wife Paulina Gretzky after missing out on USA’s Olympics golf team

LIV Golf star Dustin Johnson is making the most of his Paris Olympics disappointment.

The 40-year-old stepped out in Portofino, Italy, during a sun-drenched vacation with his wife Paulina Gretzky.

Johnson was overlooked for the USA team along with fellow LIV stars Bryson DeChambeau , Brooks Koepka, and Patrick Reed.

The two-time Major winner has still jetted to Europe as Team USA goes for gold in Paris.

But he’s several hundred miles south enjoying blistering hot weather on the Italian Riviera.

Johnson and Paulina visited the picturesque town of Portofino on Tuesday.

The couple took a stroll through the cobbled streets before dining at a harbor restaurant.

Clutching a host of designer Louis Vuitton bags, the pair looked right at home in the upmarket commune situated southeast of Genoa.

Gretzky turned heads in a gorgeous figure-hugging dress paired with a chunky gold necklace and red clutch.

Her golfing hubby rocked a pink shirt and blue shorts as they met up with friends for dinner.

The loved-up couple – who wed in April 2022 – finished off the evening with a romantic boat trip.

Gretzky laughed as she was helped onto the craft by the 2020 Masters champion.

They shared a kiss before relaxing on the deck to watch the sunset with a glass of champagne.

In Paris, golfers Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, and Collin Morikawa are representing the Stars & Stripes on the course.

Johnson’s snub is partly due to his decision to play on the LIV Golf tour, as well as his disappointing recent record in the Majors.

The 40-year-old left the PGA Tour two years ago in a hefty $100 million deal.

LIV Golf is not sanctioned by the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), making it hard for players to move up the world rankings.

Team USA was selected using OWGR data, resulting in a host of big names – including Johnson – missing out.

Rory McIlroy , who is representing Ireland and not Team GB in the Games, spoke out against the system earlier this week.

“The way the qualification system works, not all the best players in the world are here,” McIlroy said.

“You’d like to think that if you’re going to win something really prestigious in the sport then you want all the best players playing and that isn’t quite happening here.

“It’s still very meaningful and if I were to win a medal, especially a gold medal, it would mean a lot to me.

“I was really close to winning a medal last time – I said I’d never tried as hard to finish third in my life – so once you’re in there and especially if you are in contention for a medal, you feel the buzz of it and it’s really cool.”
