Beaufort Co. sheriff investigates early morning Shell Point shooting

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is investigating a death scene in the Shell Point area.

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, at about 6:00 a.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic incident resulting in a gunshot wound.

When deputies arrived, they found one victim deceased on the scene and detained another individual. There is no immediate threat to the public.

There will be increased law enforcement in the Shell Point area due to the fact that the investigation is still ongoing.
