Last minute summer trip? Check out where to find KSP safety checkpoints first

FRANKFORT, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Hitting the road for a last-minute summer trip before school starts back? Getting a ticket would take the wind out of Kentuckian’s sails as summer fun comes to a close.

During heavy travel, the Kentucky State Police want to remind people to stay safe on the road.

KSP will conduct safety traffic checkpoints in various areas across the state to start the month of December. Post 12 monitors Shelby, Spencer, Franklin, Anderson, Scott, Woodford, and Fayette counties.

Make sure to wear your seat belt!

Troopers and deputies will also be paying special attention to ensuring drivers comply with insurance and registration violations.

Drivers who encounter a traffic safety checkpoint will be asked to present their license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. KSP said drivers who have this information readily available and who have not violated any laws should expect a short delay of 30 seconds to one minute.

• U.S. 25                          Scott County Line
• U.S. 25                          Ironworks
• U.S. 27                          Jessamine County Line
• U.S. 60                          Woodford County Line
• U.S. 60                          Man O’ War
• U.S. 60                          Rice Road
• Ironworks                    Newtown Pike
• Ironworks                    Kentucky Horse Park Entrance
• Ironworks                    Kentucky Horse Park Campground Entrance
• Newtown Pike             Scott County Line
