People experiencing homelessness around Denver can sometimes be seen with these bloody, weeping wounds. I recently mentioned this phenomenon to a fentanyl user who told me about the xylazine connection.

This 1-year-old Lab and Boxer mix pup was found by a Good Samaritan who found him with his two back legs bound together, causing irreparable damage. The damage to his legs was so severe only way forward was surgery. Herk underwent a successful amputation and has since made a full recovery. He uses a wheelchair to move around and has mastered it with ease.
