Lil Yachty confesses that he only recently listened to two albums that are both considered classics among Hip-Hop fans . Appearing on the Flagrant podcast, the Atlanta-based rapper admits only recently getting into the depths of JAY-Z’s catalog. The admission was made after co-host Alexx Media questioned the absence of the Brooklyn titan on Yachty’s dream feature list.

“I listened to The Black Album for the first time like three days ago,” explained the 26-year-old. “And then I listened to Reasonable Doubt.. . I think that the Reasonable Doubt album was better in my opinion… He’s an insane lyricist.”

He continued, “I’m not a big fan of like, De La production, that type, that sound. I think he’s sick. I think the sh*t he talks about is like sh*t most people never actually get to experience in life.”

This revelation is not the only recent Lil Yachty hot take to spark conversation, especially among New Yorkers. Last month , the “One Night” performer shared his thoughts on Atlanta’s influence on The Big Apple during an episode of his A Safe Place podcast.

“You just said even like the influence was extremely heavy from Atlanta,” Yachty elaborated to Cash Cobain. “As far as style goes, I don’t think it’s sh*t going on when it comes to New York fashion.”

Juelz Santana responded to the allegations on social media, naming people such as Fabolous, A$AP Rocky, and Jim Jones as proof that New York is influential.

“Ni**as just say what they want nowadays,” he explained after declaring Yachty was attempting to “erase” history.
