Simone Biles And Zac Efron have a connection many may not know about.
Once upon a time ago, the gymnastic superstar was a huge fan of the actor. In 2016, Zac flew to Rio for the Olympic Games and surprised Simone and the rest of the U.S women's gymnastic team at the time. It appears Zac has maintain his admiration for Simone and the sport since that moment on. As exactly eight years later, he took to his Instagram to congratulate Simone for her historic gold metal win .
On July 30, Zac took to his Instagram Story and applauded the Ohio native's record after the U.S. women's gymnastics team won first in the team final at the Paris Olympics . He reposted a Team USA post that spotlighted that accomplishment that Simone is the oldest U.S. women's gymnast to win an Olympic gold at 27.

He wrote above the repost, "So incredibly proud of you @simonebiles." He included three emojis in the message: two hands forming a heart, a gold metal and a goat. Simone Biles, as the most decorated gymnast of all time is considered the GOAT of the sport.
The two notable first met on the TODAY show in 2016 at the Rio Olympics. During NBC Olympic coverage at the time, Simone who was 19, had expressed her love for Zac Efron. She had joke to Hoda Kotb at one point that she and her Final Five teammates ( Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian, and Aly Raisman) needed Efron present for the team final.
Hoda said Simone had a opportunity to let Zac know which Simone did, although she stated she want to get her "hopes up."
"OK, Zac Efron, I think we need you here at the team final because we'll all get to be there," she said to the camera. "And we need you to come watch."
Days later, The Iron Claw star came in person, wearing a Team USA shirt and surprised her during a TODAY segment as she had won her fourth gold at the Rio Olympics. Simone was so flustered when Zac came out and couldn't believe her eyes, saying "Stop, you’re lying,’" and "Stop, no way, no way." She even asked if this was "real life."

Zac gave Simone a big embrace and the two posed for sweet photos (and a Boomerang) which she shared all over social media in celebration. The High School Musical alum later in his interview with TODAY explained that he started began following the Olympic gymnastic because he was “immediately captivated by these girls and what they were doing.”
"Their story just blew my mind," he continued. "When I found out Simone and this team were fans, I was like, ‘What kind of guy am I if I don’t show up?’"
Since then Simone has gone on to win many more metals and accolades. She is currently competing at the Olympics with her other team members Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, Hezly Rivera and Sunisa Lee. The 27 year-old also married the Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens in April 2023. Zac has starred in many movies, recently his Netflix romcom with Nicole Kidman and Joey King came out in June. According to IMDB , Zac has 2 projects, a remake of Three Men and a Baby and a thriller called Famous.
