Irish Olympian Rhasidat Adeleke has reportedly chosen not to take part in the 400m mixed relay event at the 2024 Paris Olympics .

21-year-old Adeleke is one of Ireland’s brightest young athletes, having set the national record in the mixed relay at the European Championships in Rome last June. Since then, there has been much speculation about where she will focus her attention after her record-breaking success in the mixed relay.

However, she has made the decision not to participate in the same event at this year’s Olympic Games. Instead, Adeleke will focus her attention on the individual 400m event. People are speculating that this is because she has a better chance of winning and taking home a medal for Team Ireland.

Team Ireland is off to an incredible start with three medals from swimmers, Mona McSharry from Co Sligo , and Daniel Wiffen, from Co Armagh. Today, rowing duo Daire Lynch and Philip Doyle took home a bronze medal.
