Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll were spotted soaking up the Olympic atmosphere in Paris on Wednesday, just before Rory teed off in the men's golf event on Thursday.

McIlroy is taking part in his second Olympic Games this week, donning the colors of Team Ireland at Le Golf National in Paris with teammate Shane Lowry. The Irish duo warmed up for their first round by attending the men's tennis, where they watched Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal take on Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek.

McIlroy's partner also Stoll joined them, not long after the couple made headlines when McIlroy announced their once impending divorce was now off the table.

Back in May, ahead of the PGA Championship, news broke that McIlroy had initiated divorce proceedings from Stoll after seven years of marriage. According to the documents filed, their union was labeled as 'irretrievably broken', with both parties seeking shared custody of their daughter Poppy.

Yet, just a month later, as another major championship loomed, McIlroy found his private life back under the spotlight. He confirmed that the couple had reconciled, halting the divorce process shortly before the US Open kicked off. "There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate," McIlroy commented, as reported by The Guardian .

"Responding to each rumor is a fool's game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning." Days later McIlroy came as close as he has ever been to ending his 10-year wait for a major title, falling one shot short of Bryson DeChambeau at Pinehurst No. 2.

After taking a month following U.S. Open heartbreak, McIlroy returned to action at the Genesis Scottish Open last month. Spotted cheering him from the sidelines at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick was his partner, Stoll, who watched on during the opening round.

Next up for McIlroy was The Open Championship at Royal Troon, where he failed to find his form, missing the cut after 36 holes. The European star then flew off to Portugal for a sunny getaway with Stoll before heading over to Paris to take part in the Summer Games this month.

While McIlroy has been known to downplay the significance of Olympic golf in the past, it seems he might have had a change of heart. He opened up this week, saying, "I've been asked this question a lot, where would an Olympic medal sit in sort of the hierarchy of my career achievements and it's something I probably won't be able to answer until when everything is said and done.

"I think as golf is in the Olympics for a longer period of time ,it will become more of -- I don't know if anything will be able to sit alongside the majors. We have our four events a year that are the gold standard. But I think this is going to be -- in time, going to be right up there amongst that."
