It has been less than two months since Dr. DisRespect announced he would be taking “a vacation” after admitting he inappropriately messaged a minor, and he’s already back.
It has not even been a whole calendar season since the allegations surrounding former Twitch streamer Dr. DisRespect (also known as Guy Beahm) came out, and he has already posted about a potential comeback. On June 26, new insights came out surrounding one of the biggest mysteries on the internet regarding gaming: Why was Dr. DisRespect banned from Twitch ?
Beahm himself admitted in an X post at the time , “Were there Twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes.” His company affiliations with Turtle Beach and the company he helped found, Midnight Society, have both ended abruptly following the streamer’s admission, with both companies claiming they made the decision themselves to drop Dr. DisRespect. Beahm, however, said Midnight Society and him had parted ways amicably, and Studio Head Robert Bowling responded with, “If you inappropriately message a minor. I can not work with you. Period.”
Despite all of this fallout and his insistence on “taking an extended vacation,” Dr. DisRespect has rejoined the internet (for better or worse) with a cryptic picture of himself positioned in front of a chess board on X (formerly Twitter). The chess board is placed so that the audience is positioned across from Beahm, and the pieces the audience has against him are checker pieces. This is just one month removed from admitting to inappropriately messaging a minor.
The post has been seen over 30 million times, and surprisingly, many fans have been quick to accept the creator’s re-emergence on the internet. One user, Alyx Walks, writes, “Did you at least increase the vertical leap?” to which DisRespect himself replied, “And got a tan too” in a showing of rare onset amnesia from June 2024. Other fans have been quick to remind Beahm, with examples of Beahm interacting with fan comments on this post, even responding to a direct accusation, which can be seen below.
Dr. DisRespect did say, “They want me to disappear… yeah f***ing right” Last time, he signed off the internet, implying that he would return, and it has happened as advertised.
