John Janssen Says Shannon Beador Has ‘A Wonderful Side,’ but Dating Her Felt Like ‘Failure’

John Janssen’s face hasn’t materialized (yet) on Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18, but his name sure has. John’s newest leading lady, Alexis Bellino , has returned to filming on her former series, right next to John’s ex, Shannon Beador . Shannon and John had a rocky romance, and John took a lot of heat from the viewing audience. Now that Alexis is also bringing the noise, John is speaking out. In John’s words, Shannon had a “wonderful side,” but she was also part of the problem.

Dating Shannon made John feel like a failure

Appearing on the Reality with The King podcast, John opened up to Carlos King about his failed romance with nine-lemons-Beador. “I wanna say that my relationship with Shannon was real,” he began, noting, “She has a wonderful side to her.” But then, his shade clocked in, as did his usage of a third-person narration. “I think people out there just assume John was the problem in the relationship, and I would just challenge people to think about what it might be like to be with Shannon,” he quipped.

Just in case you cannot imagine his ask, no worries. John gave us a how-to guide, explaining, “’What is it like to fail every day, all day, every day? To fail at everything? That’s what it felt like to date her.”

John admitted that he and Shannon had some “good times” together. But ultimately, they were not compatible. “I tried very, very hard. I did. But we were never meant to be together,” John stressed.

Luckily for John, he has since found his perfect fit in Alexis, and if you hate this, he cares zero. “If you don’t want us to be together, then swipe left on Instagram. Turn the other way if you don’t like it because here we are,” he ends, likely making Alexis swoon for days.
