Chris Webber and Penny Hardaway were part of the college squad that played the 1992 Dream Team in their first scrimmage. It was an intimidating task, but someone had to do it. But Webber and Penny weren't paralyzed by fear all the way through. The two ballers were excited to play with their idols and get some priceless memorabilia from them.

    Dream Team fan boys

" We went to MJ's room afterward and you know how college kids are: "Hey, man! Lemme get some shoes? Everything in your room—just let us have it, bro! I know you can get some more!" Hardaway said.

"Penny didn't tell you we were on a covert mission," Webber said. "I got socks. I got T-shirts. I asked Jordan for an earring. Some of the stuff I have, my grandkids will have to take it to the Hall of Fame, because I'm gonna keep it until I die. It was awesome. It was the best time. It was the best time."

We can't blame Hardaway and Webber for their fanboy antics. The 1992 Dream Team was the first national team that featured NBA players. It was such a legendary squad that even their foes from other countries took the opportunity to get some memorabilia.

    The parachute club

But on a serious note, Webber and the rest of his teammates got a dose of what it's like to play the best of the best. The former Sacramento Kings forward recalled Michael Jordan playing solid defense and Larry Bird talking smack .

"First, we didn't score a bucket. That's when I really knew there was a difference in the NBA and college because of the drills of denying. I remember Jordan pulling up the shorts and denying it; you literally couldn't touch the ball. Bird, I remember one time coming to the corner, he pump fakes, and Rodney Rogers goes by. He says, 'Welcome to the parachute club,' and hits a three in his face," Webber said in an interview with Dan Patrick.

It was a crazy time in Chris and Penny's lives. They were just minding their own business, working on their craft, until one day, they received a call to play against one of the greatest teams ever assembled. It's safe to say that they seized the moment by securing great memorabilia and playing hard against their idols.
