“Everybody’s Doing It” – Olympic Swimmers Admit They All Pee In The Pool Just Like The Rest Of Us

There are two types of people: Those who admit they pee in the pool, and liars.

And look, is it gross? Sure. I mean, if somebody stood outside the pool and started peeing into it while you were swimming, you’d probably get out as fast as you could.

But if somebody’s just hanging out in the pool, you know there’s a good chance they’re letting it go at some point, and for some reason we’ve all just agreed to act like it’s not happening and trust the ungodly amount of chemicals to do their job.

Now, I’m not saying I don’t pee in the pool too. I’m the first to admit it, especially after I’ve been drinking for awhile. Getting out every 20 minutes to walk inside and go to the bathroom while I’m soaking wet just isn’t happening. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

And apparently the same goes not only for my drunk ass floating around with a beer in my hand, but also for the best swimmers in the world.

Yahoo Sports caught up with some of the swimmers from Team USA to ask them the question we all want to know: Do they pee in the pool?

And the answer was unanimous. They all pissing.

According to Kate Douglass, who will be going for the gold in the 200m breaststroke today:

“If you say you don’t pee in the pool you’re lying. Because everybody’s doing it a lot more than you think.”

And Bobby Finke, who won the silver medal in the 800m freestyle earlier this week, said that anybody who says they’re not peeing in the pool are liars:

“There’s only the people who tell the truth and the liars. So everybody pees in the pool.”

I mean, we all just assumed they were peeing in the pool, right? You don’t want that extra weight in your bladder slowing you down (I don’t know if that’s true or not but it sounds good?)

Seems like it would also be a mental thing too. You don’t want to be thinking about how much you have to pee as you’re trying to focus on winning an Olympic medal.
