Halsey and Britney Spears were able to break the ice and she has the veteran pop star's full support!

In a new interview with BBC Radio 1 , the 29-year-old "Bad at Love" singer opened up about the conversation she and Spears had, ahead of the release of her new single, "Lucky," which pays homage to the veteran pop star's hit from 2000.

"I shared everything with her every step of the way, down from like the first demo of the song," Halsey said. "And I sent her like a shot for shot treatment of the music video, just because I wanted to make sure I was totally nailing it."

Halsey sings about how lucky she is to be alive, amid her health struggles, and all of the backlash she has seen in her career. In the chorus, the songstress samples Spears' hit -- in which she sang about the perils of being a pop star.

In addition to the support, Halsey revealed that she and Spears shared a special moment with merch.

"Also we traded merch," Halsey shared. "She sent me like 'Lucky' merch for the 'Lucky' anniversary and I sent her some stuff."

She continued about Spears' support, "It's def a pinch-me thing, I didn't even know she knew who I was kinda, and so every day I'm kinda just looking around like, 'There's a six-year-old girl in my heart that's freaking out.'"

Halsey's comments come after Spears' X (formally known as Twitter) account tweeted and deleted a message condemning the single's release. However, Spears took to the account and clarified that Halsey had her full support, and that she didn't post that message.

"Fake news !!! That was not me on my phone !!! I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it 🌹 !!!," Spears wrote on July 26.

Halsey felt the love from the GRAMMY-winning pop star and sent it right back in her own tweet.

"And I love Britney!!!! I always have and always will," the "Bad at Love" singer tweeted. "You were the first person who ever made me realize what it means to feel inspired. And you continue to inspire me everyday."

Halsey's return to music comes amid her long-battle with health struggles . On Wednesday, the GRAMMY-nominated singer penned a message to her fans who have been speaking negatively of her music.

"My own fans are hands down meaner to me than any other people on the planet. Not speaking for all of you, of course," she wrote on her Tired and Lonely Muse Tumblr .

"But it used to be just a minority that were awful to me and now it seems like a majority have only stuck around to chime in occasionally with their opinion of how much they hate me or how awful I am," she added. "It’s hard to want to engage in a space that is completely devoid of any kindness, sympathy, patience; or to be honest human decency. Especially after years of hiding from the interactions for fear that this EXACT thing would happen. I don't know man. I almost lost my life. I am not gonna do anything that doesn’t make me happy anymore. I can't spiritually afford it."
