If you were unable to catch A Quiet Place: Day One in theaters it's now available for purchase or rental at home on Apple TV, Prime Video and other video-on-demand platforms. The prequel to A Quiet Place stars Lupita Nyong'o and takes place on the first day that the aliens who have scarily-sensitive hearing invade NYC.

It also stars an adorable and amazingly smart cat named Frodo. Slight spoilers for this super terrifying movie follow so proceed with caution! Because the aliens are attracted to sound, it's expected that hiding from these aliens with a cat-in-tow would lead to the cat meowing and the aliens getting you. But the cat in the movie is such a good, smart cat it instinctually knows that it can't be meowing all over the place. People on social media are doing their own A Quiet Place: Day One challenge with their own cats to see how their cats would do and it's hysterical.

This hysterical video was posted by the TikTok account for @ Birchcanread and the absolute winner is Marshmallow.  My own cats would fail this challenge so hard!

One person commented, "The way you’re gently hopping and not even running but they almost all had something to say IMMEDIATELY" That's exactly what a cat would do. Another person replied, 'Okay but have any of you told your cats the scenario you gotta make sure they know the stakes." It's so true. These cats have no idea they could be dinner for an alien!

My own cats would fail this challenge so hard. All they do is talk all day long. They want to be picked up, they meow. They want to be petted, they meow. They are hungry, they meow. One cat looked at the other cat funny, they meow.

I plan on watching this movie again at home with my own cats and keeping track how many times they meow during the movie. I know if this were real life I'd be absolute alien food.

Before filming A Quiet Place: Day One Lupita Nyong'o had to work with a therapist to help her get over her cat phobia.

Deadline reports, "I’ve been terrified of cats my entire life,” Nyong’o said in an interview last week with “CBS Mornings.”

“I wouldn’t be in a room with a cat, I would cry … I just found them suspicious, you know? They’re like little lions, and like, if they were any bigger, they would eat us.”

By the end of filming Nyong'o even adopted her own cat she fell in love with cats so hard! That's the magic of movies!
